Is my water going to be
slippery when treated?
The water is only slippery when the pH is too high. Keep in mind that
your skin has its own natural oils and when wet, clean water may feel a
little slippery.
With untreated water, soaps with oils and conditioners are needed which
can also cause water to feel slippery.
All natural soaps like ivory, and oatmeal-based are the best.
What makes my water stink?
The odor can come from many sources. The smell of rotten eggs is natural
and comes from the ground due to decaying organics. It can also be
caused by your hot water heater.
Why do I have brown stains from my water?
Brown stains can come from iron or sediment. If they are hard to wipe
off it is iron! There are many types of iron and the best way to
determine what type they are - and the solution - is to have your water
tested. Call us at 908-441-2659 to request a free basic water test.
If I have a water softener is my water safe to
drink?
It's probably not a good idea. A water softener doesn't make good
drinking water. The softener only removes hardness, iron, and a few
other heavy metals. Things like bacteria, arsenic, and nitrates are not
filtered by a water softener.
Will my refrigerator filter remove bacteria and
arsenic?
Unfortunately, no. Most refrigerators have carbon filters that work
great on removing chlorine from city water. However, bacteria will grow
and reproduce in that type of filter. Other problems, like arsenic, will
pass through carbon also. A reverse osmosis drinking water system hooked
up to the refrigerator is the best way to have safe drinking water.
